The cities of north east Brazil are veritable open air museums, with streets and squares lined with centuries' old houses, beautiful baroque churches, markets and colonial buildings. It is not for nothing than one of them, the beautiful and historic city of Olinda, world famous for its carnival, was declared "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO and received the title "Culture Capital" in 1996.

Recife, the capital city of the state of Pernambuco, is the fourth most important city in Brazil. There are two rivers flowing through the city and a multitude of canals and bridges. For this reason the city is known as "the Venice of Brazil". Many of the city's beaches are protected by coral reefs, hence the name Recife.

In these two cities, as in others on the north east coast, culture, art and colonial architecture co-exist in perfect harmony with modern buildings and excellent infrastructures. This means that the most demanding visitor can enjoy all types of conveniences and quality services, normally at much lower prices than we are accustomed to paying in Europe.

Colonial architecture, splendid urban beaches protected by coral reefs, ancient churches, rivers and bridges all contrast with areas of modern luxury skyscrapers, wide tree lined avenues and huge commercial centers.
