Brazil is a huge country, and, therefore, the climate differs considerably from region to region. In some areas the heat can be suffocating (for example, in Río and Sao Paulo from December to March) and the humidity (as in the Amazon region) unbearable. Other areas have high amounts of rainfall and in the south of the country the temperatures can drop to only a few degrees above freezing from May to September (southern winter).
However, the climate of the northeastern coast is unbeatable almost all year round: the sun always shines but the temperatures are softened by constant and refreshing sea breezes. Temperatures hardly ever reach extreme readings. Sudden downpours are usually followed by long spells of sunshine.
There is no need to choose the best season of the year to be able to enjoy the beaches: it is always sunny.
Tidal waves, hurricanes, earthquakes and other extreme natural forces are completely unknown phenomena on the northeastern coast of Brazil.
